CELEBRATE LIKE NO ONE IS WATCHING!!!

I lost my brother and best friend this year. IT made me realize that my priorities had been mixed up. Celebrate life and your family. Here are just a few excuses you can use to celebrate every day!!!

November 8

Dunce Day
Today marks the death of medieval scholar Duns Scotus of Duns, Scotland (in 1308). Duns Scotus of Duns, Scotland was a medieval scholar. Perceptions of his views ranged from brilliant to less than complimentary. Duns Scotus believed that cone shaped hats increased learning potential. He believed knowledge would flow from the point of the cap, down and into the head of the wearer, making that person smarter. About all this accomplished over time, was the perception of a person wearing a dunce cap to be...... a dunce. There was a positive side to his use of dunce caps. It motivated the wearer to learn more, so he could be rid of the the cap. Scholar critics of his work derived the term "dunce" from his name and place of birth.

Xray Day
X-ray technology was invented completely by accident. In 1895, a German physicist named Wilhelm Roentgen made the discovery while experimenting with electron beams in a gas discharge tube.

November 9

Neon Signs Day
Neon lighting was invented by French chemist Georges Claude (1870-1960). Claude displayed his first neon sign at the Paris Exposition of 1910. Georges Claude received the patent for the neon sign on November 9, 1911. He sold the first neon advertising sign to a Paris barber in 1912.

November 10

Marine Corps Birthday
The United States Marine Corps traces its institutional roots to the Continental Marines of the American Revolutionary War, formed at Tun Tavern in Philadelphia, by a resolution of the Second Continental Congress on November 10, 1775 to raise 2 battalions of Marines. That date is regarded and celebrated as the date of the Marine Corps' "birthday".

Nobember 11

Veteran's Day
Veterans Day is an American holiday honoring military veterans. Both a federal holiday and a state holiday in all states, it's always celebrated on November 11th each year. It is also celebrated as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day in other parts of the world, falling on November 11, the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I.

November 12

Chicken Soup for the Soul Day
Chicken Soup for the Soul Day is a celebration of who you are, where you've been, where you're going, and who you will be thankful to when you get there!

Pizza with the works except anchovie day
Here's your dinner for tonight. Either order out, or make it a family fun night by making your own pizzas.

November 13

National World Kindness Day
The purpose of World Kindness Day is to look beyond ourselves, beyond the boundaries of our country, beyond our culture, our race, our religion; and realise we are citizens of the world.

November 14

Pickle Appreciation Day
Apparently today is Pickle Appreciation Day according to a few co-workers. They bought a bunch of individually bagged pickles to hand out to everyone in our office. They crack me up! What a great way to celebrate with your co-workers.

Operating Room Nurse Day
This day honors those important nurses, who care for patients before, during and immediately after surgery. It's a very important role, during a period where a patients comfort and life is in another person's hands.
