Beagle Dog Lover Gifts
The Beagle was first made famous by Snoopy in Peanuts. They are famous again, winning Best in Show at Westminster Dog Show. They have maintained their popularity yearly by making the top 10 most popular dog breeds; this year coming in at number 5. Beagles are scent hounds, developed primarily for tracking hare, rabbit, and other game. Beagles do not drool or have a doggy odor, and shedding is minimal. Bagel, one of Barry Manilow's two Beagles, appeared on several of his album covers. Lyndon B. Johnson owned three Beagles named "Him," "Her," and "Edgar." * Uno, a Beagle, took "Best in Show" at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show at Madison Square Garden on February 12, 2008. * From 1953 to 1959 the Beagle was ranked number one on the list of the American Kennel Club's registered breeds, most recently, in 2007 it ranked 5th. * Beagles do not drool or have a doggy odor, and shedding is minimal. |
